This sweet Santa Barbara Courthouse engagement was nothing short of beautiful and effortless.
When Jordan reached out to me, she was already set. Set on hiring me as her wedding photographer, set on the Santa Barbara Courthouse for her engagement photos, and set on her ideas of what she envisioned. It was such a beautiful first call and we went from talking as client/photographer to friends so quickly. She specifically noted that she *loved* movement photos and a little blur, so I made sure to add that little bit more than I usually would. J+J wanted to split their engagement session into two different locations; the Courthouse + the beach. Both locations mattered and had significance to them so we made it happen and it ended up being so perfect and true to who they are.

Although the courthouse can get incredibly busy on weekends, we found nooks and crannies that still had the essence of Santa Barbara. I absolutely love that in this one location we can combine nature and beautiful architecture. J wore a gray suit, and Jordan wore a little black dress -- it really was perfect. The initial plan was an off-white dress but those are so hard to come by and it ended up working out better than anticipated. She found a small veil off of Etsy that pulled the entire outfit together. Anyway, we walked around and I got to meet and get to know J+J. What a down-to-earth couple, what a pleasure it was to spend some time with them before their big day.

We started our session at the Courthouse and then made our way to the closest Santa Barbara beach, which was about 11min away. It's not hard to find beautiful beaches since SB is along the coast. Outfits changed to fit the mood (and the weather since it got a little colder) and we ended the session during sunset with sweaters and pants, the perfect combo.
I am so beyond excited to photograph their wedding day in May.
The end. What a beautiful day.
