I include an engagement session with my wedding collection because I find it to be soo important to meet you before your big day! It's crucial to get to hang out and feel comfortable with each other in front of the camera before the wedding. My beautiful couple is having their Malibu wedding next year and they love the beach so to keep on brand we photographed their El Matador Engagement photos in Malibu too. It was so much fun and it was absolutely beautiful.

The sun drenched us, as did the water -- I could not have asked for better conditions. It felt as magical as it could be. The water glittered and the sun gave us all it had. J+H also were in such a fun and flirty mood, their joy and love comes through the images so effortlessly. H sent me her outfit ideas via iMessage ahead of time but seeing it in person made me so ecstatic. Natural and earth tone colors photograph so so well in natural environments. They completely understood the assignment and blew it out of the park. I loved the details she added too, from her necklace to her sweet earrings. Accessories are always encouraged, they really help bring your personality to each image.

This perfect El Matador Engagement photo session came together beautifully. Every element was on our side and we rolled with it, hung on tight, and created magic. I approach my engagement sessions in a very collaborative way. This allows my couples, and me, to feel very natural and unposed. It also helps avoid awkwardness!! And that's exactly what we did on this day. It was a very push and pull method that worked so perfectly.
