These Point Dume Family Photos in Malibu also happen to be baby K's first birthday photos. There are so many ways to celebrate your sweet baby's first year of life. Some people do smash cakes, others throw huge parties, this beautiful couple of mine brought their summer baby to the beach for the first time. Disclaimer -- he absolutely loved it. They wanted to take Malibu Beach family photos because they wanted to photograph his first time near the water as well as treasure those moments professionally.
Before their sweet baby was born, I photographed their maternity photos and fell in love with their relationship. I've known Sandra since high school and photographed her college grad photos as well. Nothing is more special than photographing the life of your friend and all the special moments that unfold. This day was no different. We went to Point Dume State Beach in Malibu to take their family photos.
POINT DUME BEACH FAMILY PHOTOS
Family photos outdoors can be a little tricky. I always highly suggest, when it comes to family photos in particular, to do something and go somewhere where the baby can be distracted and entertained. Whether it be in your own home, or in this case at the beach, babies just want to play. The location needs to be kid-friendly, needs to be easily accessible, needs to also be entertaining and safe! When Sandra reached out to do family photos, I knew that Point Dume would be the perfect place to go.
Point Dume State beach has a big parking lot that is so easily accessible. You can park where you want depending on what part of the beach you'd like to be in. It also has a lot of different textures and "areas" that allow for a variety in images. For instance there's greenery, there's rock formations, and there's also the beach/water itself of course. It's a beautiful place for any type of session but it's also a perfect beach for a family outing.
