Truly a classy and beautiful overcast The Stonehurst wedding day. What luck I struck getting to know and photograph people's lives in this way. I am very grateful to do what I get to do. Let's get straight into this beautiful wedding and all the details within it.
This day was very special. I don't know what it was about Mark and Jennifer but they drew me in immediately. I enjoyed talking to them so much during our initial conversation that I was truly so excited when they booked me for their day. The same feelings emerged towards The Stonehurst on my first walk-through. It is such a beautiful venue and it fit perfectly with my couple's style. A perfect match-made in heaven if I am so bold to say. This wedding day came together so absolutely flawlessly. It was an absolute pleasure and dream to photograph.
I am thrilled with the final results and am so excited to finally share them with you, whoever you may be. Whether you're just taking a peek because you were a guest, a follower of mine on instagram, or a potential bride or groom. I hope you enjoy these photographs. The Stonehurst Wedding
We were all hoping that the rain will hold off until reception time when everyone's inside and enjoying the celebration. Spoiler alert -- it did. And it was perfect. The day went on in an overcast sorta way, gloomy but so much hope and beauty. Light from the sun peaked out a couple of times, shedding just the perfect amount of sunshine. The wedding decor was simple but intentional throughout the entire venue. The Stonehurst itself is truly a piece of art, not much needs to be added for its beauty to come through. It's a mix between a secret garden and the desert. The ceremony was left as is (spike palm trees that form a natural arch were exactly as they needed to be) set right in front of a barn. The minimalist approach went a long way making the day so beautiful.
Inside, on the reception tables, sat a beautiful bottle of maple syrup from Mark's hometown. Next to it, was a beautiful red box of a traditional Chinese treat from Jennifer's cultural background. I thought this was such a beautiful way to bring together both cultures.
I photographed this wedding using both digital and film photography. At the end of the blog post you will see the few frames of film that I shot. Please enjoy!
The end to this perfect day! Please reach out if you would like me to photograph your beautiful wedding at the Stonehurst or at another venue (or your backyard)!
