This beautiful intimate Montage Laguna Beach Wedding has sun, beach, and gorgeous florals. It was an August afternoon in the middle of COVID. Darlina and Nick had postponed their 2020 wedding day to next year. So many cancellations, changes, and, I'm assuming, stress (duh)! I associate shot this day for my friend Monique Bianca Photo.
They invited their closest most important people and got hitched in front of them only two weeks before THIS day! HOW FREAKING PERFECT. Married is what they wanted to be, so they made it happen and put together an intimate Montage Laguna Beach Wedding in two weeks! That is dedication. They held their reception at Dana Point Yacht Club.
MONTAGE LAGUNA BEACH WEDDING -- LOGISTICS
The Montage in Laguna Beach is breath taking. Their resort has the best views, and the prettiest areas! It was easy to get to (driving). And, the valet parking people were freaking kind and so easy to talk to.
The ceremony is held in a green grassy area facing the ocean, facing Treasure Island Beach. It was stunning!! The way the florals were set up was perfect too. The day came together almost as if it were planned a year in advance.
BEST CEREMONY LIGHTING
On the west coast, the sun sets on the ocean side. This can be a mega advantage when planning a wedding because you can get a gorgeous set of images as the sun sets behind your ceremony (where your guests are facing).
This beautiful couple was doing the impossible by planning this day in 2wks. AND THEY SUCCEEDED! Note one thing for future summer day weddings: hold the ceremony around 2-3hrs before sunset! The sun was right above us.
If the sun is behind your officiant, you will avoid uneven and harsh shadows on your (bride + groom and bridal party)'s faces. Click here to see how I go through creating a timeline for them!
Cheers to Darlina and Nick!! A couple that, despite COVID totally changing it up on them, decided to carry on, adjust, and get married in a beautiful, fully cheeky smile kinda way!! Love is absolutely not cancelled this year.
